About: The idea behind Pheasant's Tears is to revive traditional Georgian wine culture which had effectively disappeared under Soviet occupation. Georgia or the Transcaucasus lays claim to the birth of modern wine civilisation (8,000 years of
tradition). Pheasant’s Tears and like-minded growers are rediscovering ancient indigenous grape varieties – Georgia has around 540 and counting, working with traditional farming and winemaking implements and using the famous qvevri; massive clay eggs which are buried in the earth.
Chinuri offers a lightly floral nose with delicate passion fruit on the palate that rolls into lime at the finish.
